How to use GoWYLD resources
What is available? Wyoming libraries have purchased access to many resources for the use of Wyoming citizens. These products range in scope from research article databases and scholarly journals to reading recommendations, language learning, ebooks, and much more. If you are in a Wyoming library or have a Wyoming public library card, you have access to the products listed on this site. Any exceptions (such as in library use only) are noted on the GoWYLD site).
How do I connect? Click on the link to one of the products, either from the subject categories listed or by browsing by the first letter of the name. Some links will require you to provide your library card and PIN which helps us assure the content providers that you are an authorized user. Your library card must be registered with a Wyoming public library or other WYLDCAT member library.
What if I don't know my card number or PIN? Please contact your local public library for information about your library card. If you have given your email address to your library, you can email your PIN to yourself. Visit this form to request your PIN.
What if I'm a student in a school or at a community college? Most of the GoWYLD resources will allow direct access from within school buildings, however, school users will need to use a public library card or contact the school's media specialist for login instructions from home. If the school library is a member of the WYLDCAT consortium, then your library card will work on GoWYLD. Community College and University of Wyoming card holders should access resources through their institution's websites.
My library has other databases not listed on GoWYLD. If your library has licensed additional resources, and you are accessing from home, you should log in as a remote user first. The resulting page will show links to library specific resources.
When can I use GoWYLD? The resources are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, the Wyoming State Library provides technical support for this service 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Your local public library may be open in the evenings or on the weekends to provide answers to questions.
I'm having technical difficulties logging in or using one of the products. Authentication methods and vendor websites may require you to adjust the security settings on your home computer for best results. Click on the troubleshooting tab at the top of this guide for more information. Many vendor sites also provide help links with technical specifications or links to their technical support contacts.
